Aurora hires people who want to build the future of transportation. Our software engineers work across the self-driving vehicle system, from algorithm design to high-performance embedded work to distributed implementations. We are developing robust, high-performance, and highly reliable software.
We are searching for Software Engineers who are early in their careers to join Aurora’s Platform Software and Services (PSS) group within the Software organization. Within PSS are a set of teams responsible for the bring up of vehicle software on new platforms, all aspects of our onboard software infrastructure, such as our AV runtime framework, as well as software deployment, offboard communications, performance optimization tooling and more!
In this role, you will
- Design and build core, high performance, mission critical on-vehicle software and work with cloud services
- Collaborate with teams across the software and hardware organizations to deliver features and functionality per roadmap.
- Opportunities to design and develop APIs that are widely used across Aurora.
- Balance maintainability, performance and user experience for core components that are used pervasively in Aurora’s software organization.
Required Qualifications
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience
- Strong programming skills in modern languages such as C++, Python, Go.
- Ability to work across multiple programming languages and paradigms
- A passion for writing robust, intuitive, high-performance code, and being pragmatic about it
- A passion to work at the hardware/software interface
- Ability to navigate and work effectively in large codebases
