About the role:

A Senior Software Engineer on the Insomnia Team at Kong is responsible for building out APIs in Golang that power complex features in the application. You will be a point person for all backend systems changes and maintaining our system deployments inside of GCP.  Insomnia is an enterprise product with an open source core, that is being offered to customers via both our desktop application and cloud experience.
What you’ll be doing
  • Building out Golang APIs that power Insomnia’s cloud features.
  • Fast writing of APIs to expand features of Insomnia Cloud.
  • Writing automated tests to ensure behavior of code and avoid regressions.
  • Collaborating closely with a small, globally-distributed team.
  • Any additional tasks required by your manager.
    • What you’ll bring
  • Working experience in an agile, distributed, team environment. 
  • Competency and history of backend development in Golang.
  • Working experience with relational databases and SQL.
  • Strong experience with building out GraphQL or REST APIs.
  • Curiosity for working remotely as part of a globally distributed team.
  • Knowledge of computer networking protocols (HTTP, TLS, HTTP/2, TCP, etc) and systems (Linux, Golang runtime, asynchronous programming, etc).
