Insomnia is a popular API development platform that includes an API client, API designer, API testing and more, that millions of developers around the world use to build digital products across both Top Global 2000 organizations, and individual developers at smaller organizations.

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will be responsible for building new features and tooling for Insomnia, the incredibly powerful and open-source API client, that touches the work of millions of developers across the world. This position is available to remote workers and at Kong Headquarters in San Francisco.
What you'll be doing:
  • Deliver high-quality code in a React.js presentation layer.
  • Build and use APIs to power innovative features into Insomnia.
  • Write automated tests to ensure the behavior of code and avoid regressions.
  • Work as an integral part of a small, geographically distributed agile software development team to build features end-to-end.
  • What you'll bring:
  • At least 3 years of Go experience.
  • At least 4 years of React.js experience.
  • Strong experience with RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
  • Strong experience with modern and scalable web development practices.
  • Strong experience writing beautiful and tested code.
  • Experience with data modeling in relational databases.
  • Extremely Comfortable with Git and Github workflows.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills -- engineers at Kong help write the documentation for their products with the Docs team.
  • Kong has different base pay ranges for different work locations globally, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to specific candidate location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards including sales incentives depending on the terms of the applicable plan and role. Benefits may vary depending on location. US-based employees are typically offered access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short and long-term disability benefits, and basic life and AD&D insurance, among others. The typical base pay range for this role in USD. USD 152,000 - 175,460.
