Salary
$65,000-$97,500
Role Overview: The QA Manual Tester will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. This position involves manually testing tickets and releases through various environments, contributing to test cases, and collaborating with different departments to influence and improve our testing processes.
Responsibilities
- Manual Testing: Manually test tickets as they are assigned by developers.
- Release Testing: Test software releases across different environments.
- Test Case Management: Create and modify test cases to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Bug Identification: Identify and report bugs within the software.
- Collaboration: Work with team members and departments to shape test scenarios, plans, and overall testing strategies.
- Technical Challenges: Address technical challenges such as VPN hopping and ensuring accurate environment connections.
- Requirement Analysis: Extrapolate requirements from minimal data and clarify uncertainties as needed.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, particularly product managers.
Qualifications
- Experience: Testing web or mobile applications.
- Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Certifications: QA-based certifications or degrees are a plus but not required.
- Industry Experience: Government contract experience is helpful but not mandatory.

The new hire salary range for this position is $65,000 to $97,500 annually. Factors which may affect the starting pay within this range include skills, experience, and other qualifications aligned with Updater's internal leveling guidelines.
