We’re searching for a Senior Photonics Engineer in Mountain View, CA.
In this role, you will
- Perform verification and validation (“V&V”) for photonics modules, based on formally derived requirements
- Design, prototype and bringup of integrated Lidar modules and systems that are based on silicon photonics, III-V components and integrated circuits
- Develop software to support calibration and performance testing of integrated lidar modules
- Develop system-level simulations for integrated photonics chip and associated modules to define specifications, verify functionalities, and optimize performance
- Work with cross-functional teams to support the development of full Lidar systems
Required Qualifications
- Master degree in physics, electrical, or computer engineering or relevant fields
- 3+ years of research or industrial experience with opto-electronic systems
- Fundamental understanding of electronics, optics and integrated photonics
- Fundamental understanding of signal processing and control systems
- Proficiency in Python or similar object-oriented programming languages
Desirable Qualifications
- Phd in physics, electrical, or computer engineering or relevant fields
- Experience working with radar, lidar or other optical sensing systems
- Experience working with integrated photonics chips or systems
- Experience with frequency domain analysis/modeling and verification of system models against experiment
- Experience taking projects from concept to field testing
The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $240,000. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
